Green Island is a beautiful 6000 year old coral cay located in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, just 27kms offshore from Cairns, Tropical North Queensland. A National Park, Green Island is approximately 12 hectares in size and is unique in that it has a reef and rainforest environment. Of the 300 coral cays in the Great Barrier Reef, Green Island is the only one with a rainforest.
The reefs surrounding Green Island Resort support a diverse range of habitats for a wide range of tropical marine life.

Snorkelling Equipment: Your snorkelling equipment can be collected from the island Dive Shop. Snorkelling equipment includes mask, snorkel and fins. Buoyancy vests and optical masks are available for hire.
Self-guided Eco Island Walk booklet can be obtained from the Information Counter.
Swim and snorkel directly from the lifeguard patrolled beach or take a dip in the Day Visitor Swimming Pool.
Lunch and refreshments can be purchased from the island restaurant and food outlets.

If you already have a dive certification, we will provide you with all your scuba gear, and an experienced dive guide to ensure maximum enjoyment, safety and to guide you to the best sites.

Scuba diving is the best way to see the reef and no experience is necessary to take a fully supervised introductory dive. Our professional and experienced PADI instructors will guide you through every aspect of your dive, allowing you to have a relaxed, enjoyable experience.

* After your introductory dive briefing which takes about 30 minutes, you’ll gear-up and then start your dive experience in the island swimming pool for a skills practice session with your instructor.
* You’ll head down to the beach where you will board our dive tender for a short boat ride, about 7 minutes offshore, to experience scuba diving at one of our four Green Island dive sites.
For an amazing underwater walking experience, let Seawalker’s expert guides show you wonders of the reef as you stroll along Green Island lagoon’s sea floor. There’s no equipment to operate, non-swimmers welcome and you don’t even have to get your hair wet

The boat snorkel trip gives you the opportunity to experience much more of Green Island’s amazing marine life. After a short 5-7 minutes trip offshore, you will be at one of our four beautiful dive and snorkel sites, about 1.5km from Green Island.
