Itinerary

Day 1Melbourne to Halls Gap

Take an amazing vacation to the picturesque Grampian mountain ranges, where history, nature, and culture combine. Our journey begins with a visit to Ballarat and Sovereign Hill, a living museum where you can travel back in time to the gold rush days. From there, we go to the Grampians, where you will immerse yourself in the rich traditions of the local indigenous people at the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre. Admire the old rock art murals in park shelters, and enjoy the stunning views from Boroka and Reeds Lookout. Don’t miss the opportunity to enhance your trip with a Great Ocean Road day tour, offering breathtaking coastal scenery and unique experiences along one of Australia’s most iconic routes.

At Mackenzie’s Falls, witness the power and majesty of nature as the water cascades down the cliffs. As the sun sets, spot kangaroos, wallabies and wild birds, before retiring to your comfortable accommodation in Hall Gap. This is a day you’ll never forget!

Day 2Halls Gap to Apollo Bay or Port Campbell

The second day is an incredible journey down one of the world’s most renowned coastline roads. The Great Ocean Road has spectacular vistas that will leave you awestruck, and we recommend beginning early to make the most of them. We’ll make stops at London Bridge, The Grotto, the Bay of Islands, and Loch Ard Gorge, where a 19th-century shipwreck adds to the grandeur and mystery of the location. The tour’s actual highlight, however, is the iconic 12 Apostles, where limestone stacks rise dangerously from the Southern Ocean. We’ll walk a small route down to the beach at Gibson’s Steps to get a close look at the towering cliffs and remnant stacks.

As if that wasn’t enough, we’ll also take an alternate route into the historic Otway National Park, which has some of Victoria’s most pristine rainforest. We’ll conclude the day in Apollo Bay, where you can wander amid the towering Mountain Ash at Maits Rest or explore stunning fern gullies and 300-year-old beech trees. Don’t forget your camera; the desire to capture the majestic panorama will be tempting!

Day 3Return to Melbourne

The day begins with a visit to Kennett River, where you can witness koalas in their natural habitat. The tour then proceeds to explore picture-perfect waterfalls such as Erskine Falls and Teddy’s Lookout above Lorne.

Afterward, sit down to a delightful lunch in Lorne with the sparkling sea as a backdrop, a true pleasure in life. The road then hugs the coast all the way to Torquay with the Memorial Arch serving as the gateway to the Great Ocean Road.

Visit the Split Point Lighthouse in Airey’s Inlet and make a detour to the famous waves of Bells Beach, where the Rip Curl Pro is held each year.

Finally, the tour concludes with just over an hour drive back to Melbourne, completing the epic 3-day Great Ocean Road tour adventure of a lifetime.
