Looking for a truly local experience? The beautiful Perth Hills is a real hidden gem full of vineyards, farms and nature – making it an ideal day trip from Perth for orchard and fruit picking tours.

One of the unique experiences on a trip to Perth is visiting the orchards and farmgates that can be found in the Perth Hills region. Not to mention the amazing scenery that can also be found here, with rolling orchards and vineyards, rustic eateries, and an abundance of nature around every corner.

Private tours to the Perth Hills can be customised for small groups of 2 to 12 people and can be tailored to suit your group.

Orchard and fruit picking tours are fun for both adults and children, and give you insight into what farming life is like. At different times of the year this may be a tractor ride through the orchard or a guided walking tour.

Surrounding the orchards and vineyards are many small, family-owned farmgates that sell seasonal local produce from the orchards in the area such as stone fruit, persimmons, avocados, apples, pears, figs and preserves.

There are several cafes that offer tea, coffee, cake or scones for a delicious morning tea, and for lunch you can a get a ‘taste of the region’ with a shared platter lunch, or if you want to spend a bit longer to take in the views and ambience of the region, enjoy a two course lunch that showcases Western Australia’s fresh local produce. For those short on time, choose to have a half day tour to the Perth Hills to give you a taster of what it has to offer.
